Chateau d’Esclans, producers of the now famous Whispering Angel, is one of the most stunning Chateaux in Provence. They’ve undoubtedly helped to revolutionise the French rose scene and everything they do from the tasting rooms, the glass bottles, labels, marketing, and of course, the wine, is first class.
It’s become so well-known that you pay a little for that in the price, but the wine is good. It’s a blend of local varieties, Grenache, Rolle and Cinsault, with notes of apple, grapefruit and peaches on the nose. It’s crisp and dry on the palate with plenty of fresh acidity.
